First Lady Dr. Jill Biden is on the cover of Vogue‘s latest issue, and she’s speaking out about her husband, President Joe Biden, and the after effect of the first Presidential debate.

If you missed it, on June 27, President Biden debated Donald Trump. After the debate performance, some analysts on the major news networks revealed concerns they had heard from leading democratic minds that perhaps the President, who is 81, should step down as the nominee.

In the First Lady’s cover story, they added an editors note, sharing that they spoke with her on Sunday (June 30) about the calls for the President to step away from the nomination.

During a call from Camp David, she shared with Vogue that they “will not let those 90 minutes define the four years he’s been president. We will continue to fight.” She said that her husband “will always do what’s best for the country.”

The mag noted that in the coming weeks and months ahead of the November election, “it is Dr. Biden who will remain the president’s closest confidant and advocate.”
