Fever’s Caitlin Clark out at least two weeks with quad strain
A WNBA superstar has been sidelined by injury.
Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever will miss at least two weeks after suffering a left quadriceps strain, the team announced on Monday.
It is unclear when the injury occurred.
Clark, the reigning rookie of the year, has played four games this season, averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists and six rebounds per contest.
She played 37:52 and had 18 points and 10 assists in a 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday.
The Fever are 2-2 on the season.
Clark, 23, played all 40 games for Indiana last season, leading the Fever to the playoffs for the first time in seven years.
The Fever next play Wednesday on the road against the Washington Mystics.
If Clark is out just for two weeks, she’ll miss four games, including a visit to Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on June 7. The earliest she could return on that timeline is June 10 against the Atlanta Dream.
