You know, you are not alone in your struggle against ‘the man’. It might feel like a lonely battle, but that is only becuase ‘the man’ is different for everyone.
When you are at the park trying to set up a fireworks display because you miss the 4th of July, the park patrolman is ‘the man’. When you are trying to fill up your car with gas and the prices have gone up again, the company is ‘the man’. And when you are at work, of course, your boss is ‘the man’. But a surprising fact you might not have considered, is that in your home, to your cats, you are ‘the man’. The ever present oppressor who denies them food, shouts at them when they want to play spiderman on the new curtains and yells at them when they poop outside the littler box. It is funny how tables can turn so quickly when they want to.
