This is surely a moment of happiness for Indian Super League team NorthEast United FC fans. Why not? One of the most famous singers at the moment, Ed Sheeran, who is currently touring all over India, met NorthEast United FC co-owner John Abraham and CEO Mandar Tamhane. Sheeran clicked a picture, which the team CEO posted on social media, with Tamhane captioning it as a “new signing.” It’s important to note that Sheeran is currently in Shillong, where he has a show on February 12 as part of his ‘+ – = ÷ x’ India tour.

NorthEast United FC is currently holding onto the sixth and final playoff spot in the ISL with 29 points from 20 matches. However, their recent form has been inconsistent, and they are entering a crucial phase of the season where their playoff hopes could be determined. Now, they are set to face Jamshedpur FC, following a heavy 5-0 defeat in Guwahati, making this upcoming clash even more important for their playoff aspirations.
