Delhi Capitals rope in World Cup-winning head coach, but IPL 2025 captaincy mystery continues
Delhi Capitals changed their whole coaching setup with Hemang Badani replacing Ricky Ponting as head coach and Munaf Patel being named the bowling coach.
The Delhi Capitals (DC) have roped in England’s men’s cricket team’s former head coach, Matthew Mott, as their assistant coach for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Mott has an exceptional resume. He was the Australian women’s cricket team’s head coach from 2015 to 2022 and won three World Cups (ODI once and T20I twice). Mott has also won the 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup with England and also has a 3-year contract with Sydney Sixers as their assistant coach as well.
