Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 5-26-25 Promise A Tribute To John Black’s Legacy And Justice For Philip (Maybe)
I’m both dreading and looking forward to John’s final scenes next week.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-26-25 promise that friends and family will stop by the hospital to pay their last respects to John.
It is as inevitable as it is heartbreaking to let go of this character and the actor who played him, yet the tributes will be the loving, emotional scenes that have made Days of Our Lives popular for nearly six decades.
Everyone Who Loves John Will Say Their Goodbyes
John appeared to be dying on Friday’s episode, but his life isn’t quite over yet.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-26-25 say that John’s friends and family will sit vigil at his bedside, tell him how much he means to them, and pray for him.
Even though I didn’t expect John’s death to stretch over an entire week’s worth of episodes, it makes sense.
Drake Hogestyn’s death in September 2024 devastated me and many other fans because he felt like family after gracing our screens for nearly forty years.
A quick death and funeral would not have honored him or his central role on Days of Our Lives.
John deserves all the tributes that are coming and then some.

That tribute already began, and so far it’s nearly perfect, so I expect it to continue to be as beautiful as it is heartbreaking.
I’m especially happy that John’s exit is the mirror image of his introduction.
In 1986, a man covered in bandages was admitted to the hospital with no memory of who he was. That man was believed to be Roman Brady but later was revealed to be John Black.
Part of the reason he’s covered in bandages now, of course, is that Hogestyn was not able to film these scenes, so the soap used a stand-in. I
t’s done a great job of not showing the actor’s face, which would destroy the illusion because it isn’t Drake Hogestyn’s.

Still, it works out perfectly. John leaves the same way he arrived: covered in bandages.
The difference is, of course, that now he has Marlena and a family rather than being a mysterious stranger who has no connections in Salem.
John Will Pass Away Surrounded By Friends and Family
John’s death will be made sadder by how many people love him and come to Salem to express it one last time.
At home, he has Marlena, Brady, Tate, and Belle.
Shawn too if he makes it back from Bo’s bedside in time, and little Rachel should say her goodbyes but is too busy accusing Johnny of murder instead.
There will also be plenty of family coming in from outside of Salem. Sami will be back, as will Will (who will hopefully also visit Ari while he’s in town), and Carrie will appear for the first time in several years.
The Days of Our Lives spoiler video also shows a young man who is not Tate sitting by John’s bedside in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. That could either be Carrie’s son, Noah, who has never been shown on screen, or a SORASed version of Eric and Nicole’s son, Jude.
Noah would make more sense — John has been his grandfather his entire life, and Carrie is returning. Jude was a baby when Eric left, so even with SORASing it would be hard to believe he has a close relationship with John.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 5-26-25 Offer No News About Bo
It’s annoying that there’s no movement in Bo’s story, especially considering the irony.
Last week, Bo was dying and John was believed to be coming home in one piece. Now, it may be the opposite.
Love this show? We do too — and we want to keep writing about it.
Your comment or share can help make sure we get to. That’s the magic of supporting indie media.
However, almost everyone who should be with Bo is instead saying their goodbyes to John or praying for a miraculous recovery.
I love that everyone is there for John, but we need some forward movement on the Bo story, too, especially since John sacrificed everything to get Bo the experimental drug.

I’m Thrilled That Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 5-26-25 Have Xander Getting Arrested
Philip should have also been at Bo’s side, not fighting for his own life after Xander beat him up for messing up everything with the experimental drug.
That said, I’m glad that one of the non-John spoilers is Xander’s arrest.
Paul Tefler is one of the best actors on Days of Our Lives, but Xander’s behavior is out of control and he needs to suffer some consequences.
I know this storyline must be disappointing for Xarah fans.
It’s the same old cycle as always: Sarah and Xander get together, Xander does something stupid that risks his freedom and hurts someone, Sarah breaks up with him, Xander begs Sarah for forgiveness, and they get back together and start this all over.
This time, of course, t has the added wrinkle that Sarah knew about the forgery and didn’t tell Xander.

Sarah was hypocritical to get on Xander for lies and manipulations while she was doing that. I’ll give him that much.
However, Xander is proving her fears about how he would handle the truth to be correct — and more to the point, Sarah shouldn’t want to be with someone who is so violent she has to fear what he would do if he knew the truth.
Xander’s arrest doesn’t necessarily mean he’s done in Salem. I’d wager he’s not.
However, it’ll be a while before he and Sarah get back together (as it should be!), and Maggie will confront him too, warning him she’ll do anything to protect her granddaughter.

I Don’t Trust Rachel’s Claims One Bit
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-26-25 say that Rachel will confide in Kristen that she witnessed Johnny shooting EJ.
Sorry, but I don’t buy that.
While Rachel seems traumatized by the shooting, I think that one fan theory going around about how Rachel is the shooter makes much more sense than her merely witnessing her uncle do it.
Days of Our Lives is building a case against Johnny that I expect to be completely wrong.
I’m also suspicious of Kristen’s seeming surprise at this revelation. Her claim that Rachel was asleep while she was drying her hair so loudly she couldn’t hear gunshots always seemed to defy logic, and I always believed that Kristen knew Rachel was involved and was protecting her.
Besides, why was Kristen so quick to insist Rachel doesn’t need therapy? I assumed she was afraid Rachel would confess to murder in therapy.

Over to You, Days Of Our Lives Fanatics.

I’m especially excited to hear your theories about who shot EJ and what you think of the proposed tribute to John.
