Daily Roundup 7/23 – The Valley Season Finale, Kristen vs Janet, Jax Loses His Mind Again, Big Brothers POV Comp Tonight, & Two Celeb Deaths This Week

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Wednesday. Got a lot to talk about today. We’re gonna discuss the season finale. Of the valley last night. Got a lot of thoughts on that big brother. Tonight we’re gonna get the power of veto competition.

We are gonna talk a little spoilers, so I will forewarn you on that of what’s been going on, couple celebrity deaths in the last couple days that we will discuss as well, and then I’ve got. Something to say about TV ratings that go back years. But it was just fascinating for me to see this chart that I came across on Twitter that I’ll share with you.

And we’ll get to all that right now. Let’s get started. See, I gotta get used to this. I really do. ’cause normally we’d take a break right here and I’d say we’ll get to all that momentarily. Now I just gotta remember. When you’ve said we will get to all that momentarily, literally for three years on every single podcast.

Yeah. I gotta get used to saying, let’s get started. The Valley last night season finale. There is a lot to go over here. Some things that I wanna point out in regards to the episode, so, so I guess one of the biggest things this season, probably the biggest storyline. Is how Janet has become Public Enemy number one.

She is just literally the most hated person on this show, and she has done and said some things that are unacceptable, but it is pretty amazing to me the hate that she gets for basically being a gossiper and being annoying versus a guy like Jax. Who is probably, you know, well, he is a drug addict. He is an emotional abuser.

He is a gaslight. He’s a guy that is a dangerous individual to be around, and yet people literally want Janet off the show. It’s just, it’s kind of head scratching. Yeah, I know People don’t like Jax. Honestly of this fan base, way more people hate Janet than they do Jacks. I think just based on the response online, and I just, I, I don’t understand it.

I really don’t now don’t aggregate that to make it seem like I’m protecting Janet. I’m not. Janet’s been absolutely a gossiper this season. But I think a couple things can be true, especially in the Kristen situation because it’s turned into kinda like most things when we watch TV and everybody’s gotta have an opinion four seconds after it happens on screen.

It has to be black and white. You have to like Kristen and hate Janet, or you have to like Janet and hate Kristen. The bottom line is, in this situation, at least to me, from what I’m seeing. Two things can be true at one time. Janet is a gossiper and Janet has said some things this year that were absolutely uncalled for.

But the other thing that can be true is Kristen is a shit stir. Kristen, we saw them show again last night, reshow us the clip of her spreading a rumor that Jason. Doesn’t wear his wedding ring out. Sometimes a rumor that she heard from somebody else and she just passed it along, and that’s what she’s saying.

Like she’s not saying, I started the rumor. She’s saying I heard it, which to me makes it even worse. She didn’t even know if the rumor was true and she sat them down and told them, this is what I’m hearing. Well, what good does that do?

Now, overall for this season, Kristen was way better and Kristen was way more likable than Janet this season. But in this particular situation, let’s not pretend that Janet doesn’t have a reason to be upset at Kristen. Kristen spread a rumor. She heard secondhand hand that if you watched, watch What Happens Live last night with Britney.

And Zach, one of the questions they were asked was, do you believe the rumor that Jason doesn’t wear his wedding ring out? They brought Sheena on as well, and all of them said, it’s not true. And this is Zach who doesn’t even like Janet. And even he said, the rumor’s not true. Brittany said, rumor’s not true.

Now, obviously she likes Janet and Sheena likes Janet. But they have said like, Hey, it’s not true, so let’s just not pretend that Kristen is innocent in that particular argument. Overall, this season, Kristen had a way better season than Janet. I just, I, I’ve seen the hatred for Janet. I mean, it is vile how bad people hate Janet.

Yet Jack’s is literally an emotional abuser. He’s a drug addict. He is a gaslight. He is a danger. People and I, I mean, yeah, people want him off the show and he’s gonna be off the show. I just feel people hate Janet way more than they dislike Jack’s, which is kind of mind boggling to me. Jesse probably had the most growth this season, I would say, considering where we saw him at the beginning of the season to where he ended.

He was able to have a conversation with Aaron. He told Michelle to her face in one of their final conversations in the episode last night. Our divorce was not your fault, brought him to tears. The one thing about Jesse last night that I thought was funny in two of his different confessionals, these confessionals that are filmed after the whole season is done airing or done filming, is when they record these.

But him sitting there on the couch with the sweater over his shoulders, I mean, it is so bougie and so country club, but it’s also, so Jesse, the sweater for a guy over the shoulders. It’s just, it’s, it’s just funny to look at with Jesse because you, you look at it and you’re like, if there’s one guy on the show.

That’s gonna wear a sweater over your shoulders with the arms draped over each side of his shoulders. It’s just, yeah, it would be Jesse Jack’s proved why basically he got fired and isn’t coming back for next season with more outlandish behavior, just blowing up on people. You know, Brittany asked him, why don’t you just sign the papers?

I’m just gonna wait till the last day just because, and it’s just like that’s who he is. In a nutshell. Jack’s could easily have signed the papers earlier, the divorce papers. No. I’m gonna wait till I last possible minute. Why? Just because, and I really do think, you know, Jack’s coming after Danny last night.

I really do think has has a lot to do with what Jesse said. Jax has a giant chip on his shoulder because his life sucks, and anytime he sees someone else have one thing bad or do one thing bad, he wants to harp on it because he feels like he gets so much shit for all of his bad behaviors. So anybody else that has any bad behavior whatsoever, he needs to point it out.

And that’s just, yeah. A giant chip on his shoulder where he wants to go after other people. Him going after Danny yet again. Look what Danny did to Jasmine and her girlfriend. Totally unacceptable, but I feel like you know, again, this is last year. There are still some people that don’t think his apology was good enough.

And they do think he has a drinking problem. Again, I don’t know how true some of this stuff is. Jack said he has been taken out of his bar Danny twice. He was inappropriate with women. He. He has been kicked out of his bar a couple times. His bar manager told him we could lose our license if this guy doesn’t leave.

But again, it, it’s coming from Jack. So I don’t know how true that is. I do feel though, I mean, Jack’s brought Nia over and said, how many times have you had to come pick up your husband at my bar? And then Nia immediately threw it back on Jax and was like, I’ve almost run you over. ’cause you were stumbling drunk in the street.

Well that didn’t a, I mean, she probably did. I’m not saying that’s not true. Anything involving drugs and drinking with jack’s, I believe. But she didn’t answer the question when Jack said, how many times have you had to come pick up Danny at the bar because he couldn’t drive. So I do think Danny drinks more than he should, but the constant bringing up of the Janet of the Jasmine situation.

Look, I maybe we’ll get some more answers on the Yeah. Three part. Reunion show Jesus I, I expected two. I didn’t know we were getting three, so now we gotta watch this within the next three weeks on the reunion show. But I do think that some people just don’t, I think they just want Danny and Nia to be more messy because they all have messiness in their lives and they think Danny and Nia portray a certain image.

I think the best part of the Jack’s Danny Nia argument is.

Jack’s calling Nia Miss America, and she’s like, wrong pageant. No, she was Miss USA and I didn’t realize she was first runner up for Miss Universe the year that she won. I think it was 2014, she won Miss USA, but Jack’s called her Miss America. She’s like, yeah, wrong pageant dude.
