Country star Dasha suffers unfortunate makeup malfunction during Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade performance

Dasha fell victim to the torrential downpour at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, with her lipstick smudging all over her face during her live television performance.

Dubbed the ‘saddest’ parade in recent times due to rain hitting New York City on Thursday morning, performers and crowds were drenched as they celebrated the 98th annual event. 

Singer-songwriter Dasha, 24, was among the artists to take to the stage on a float in Manhattan, but it wasn’t without a little blunder. 

Dressed in a red corset and matching hot pants, she kept warm in a cream feather-trimmed coat.

While Dasha, real name Anna Dasha Novotny, completed her look with a bold red lip, it appeared that the wet weather got the best of her makeup as it spread around her mouth and chin.

Following her washout performance, Today show presenter Hoda Kotb said: ‘Alright, great job!’

Unfortunately, viewers wasted no time in pointing out Dasha’s mishap on social media.

Taking to X, one wrote: ‘Did Dasha have an intense make out before performing in the parade because her lipstick is all over her face.’

The singer-songwriter was among the artists that performed during the celebrations 

Another said: ‘Dasha’s makeup all over her face due to the rain the dancers all had wet stringy hair ohhh my goodness they should of had a bun or slick back braid.’

A third observed: ‘That girl Dasha was doing way too much on that float and idk (I don’t know) who did her makeup but they need to be fired lol her lipstick all over her face.’

‘Dasha wants to be Taylor so bad but not bad enough to buy lipstick with staying power,’ a fourth added.

An estimated three million people were expected to be in attendance at the annual holiday tradition that kicked off again today in New York City with a star-studded lineup of performances from the likes of Jennifer Hudson and Idina Menzel.

This year’s parade features 17 giant, helium-filled character balloons, 22 floats, 15 novelty and heritage inflatables, and 11 marching bands.

There are also said to be 700 clowns, 10 performance groups, award-winning singers and actors, and the WNBA championship-winning team, the New York Liberty.

It wasn’t just Dasha’s makeup that had tongues wagging online.

The Tonight Show star, 50, had viewers in stitches as he stood wearing black sunglasses despite being out under an umbrella in the pouring rain.

Fans immediately came to the conclusion that the star must have been trying to conceal any evidence of a ‘bender’ from the night before and took to social media to share their amusement.

Elsewhere at this year’s celebrations, a new Wednesday Addams float was torn apart online after it made its debut.

Based off Jenna Ortega’s character in the hit Netflix drama, the figurine was described as looking ‘more like Thursday than Wednesday.’
