Celebrity Cruises’ Captain Kate shares her future plan
McCue, as is common for Celebrity officers, works three months on, three months off schedule. The exact periods of time can vary, but that has been the rough calendar she has been following.
Many captains return to their ships after their vacation, but some move on to different ships, Perhaps they want to see a different part of the world, or maybe a captain gets moved to a newer or bigger ship.
In rare cases, of course, a captain will retire or move to a shore-based position with the cruise line. As part of her “The Captain’s Log” season finale, McCue shared what her future holds.

Here it is, day number 92. This is the final episode of season number two of “The Captain’s Log.”
Will there be a season number three? Yeah, I think so.
When I come back on February 3rd, so if there’s something that you wanna see, whether it’s behind the scenes, working on board cruise ships, or things that you’ve always wondered about, let me know, stay in contact. I will continue to post throughout my vacation.
By the way, somebody said to me, enjoy your retirement yesterday. And I thought, well, I’m not actually retiring. Although, when you work three months on, and then you’re off three months, and you renew your contract every time you sign onthe ship,
I guess technically, I am retiring, but this is just a vacation. Three months on, three months off.
But during this vacation, I will continue to post. It’s just gonna be different types of content. For example, the day after tomorrow, I have my pre-op meeting for my surgery that’s gonna be taking place during this vacation.
But I also have a lot of other fun things that are planned. So stay tuned for that.
But back to the final day on board, it was a great day because we had our Oceans Ahead presentation this morning.

Thank you to everybody that came out to the theater. We did Bug trivia. And then thisafternoon, I spent clearing up loose ends.
So finishing handover notes, cleaning out my inbox, my computer, my cabin, doinglaundry, and then packing. This is probably the largest amount of luggage that I’m taking home from a contract.
And it’s not something that I started out with.
This is because we have incredibly generous guests who have brought things from home, and they’ve made a lot of handmade gifts, which mean the world to me.
