Brillante Mendoza, Rima Das to Light up Jiseok Section

The latest feature films by established Asian directors including Brillante Mendoza, Tom Lin and Rima Das have been selected for the Jiseok competition section of the Busan International Film Festival.

The festival also unveiled the lineup for its New Currents competition, which is reserved for less experienced filmmakers and has acted as an important platform for talent discovery over many years.

This year’s New Currents includes two films each from Japan and South Korea, with others hailing from Myanmar, Iran, Kazakhstan, mainland China, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

The festival will run Oct. 2-11, 2024. Its full selection will be announced on Tuesday.
