Astronomer’s Andy Byron Under Investigation After Coldplay Concert Video

Chris Martin Jokes Concertgoers May Be “Having an Affair” After They Hide From Camera

Astronomer is looking toward a higher power after CEO Andy Byron went viral at a Coldplay concert.

In videos circulating across social media, Byron and an unidentified woman quickly broke away from their close embrace and hid when they were shown on the jumbotron at the band’s Foxborough, Mass., show on July 15, leading frontman Chris Martin to joke that the pair were “having an affair.”

Now, Byron’s employer is addressing the much talked-about moment, saying that its board of directors has “initiated a formal investigation into this matter.”

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” the tech company said in a statement shared on LinkedIn July 18. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”

The organization went on to shut down speculation that another Astronomer staffer was with Byron and the woman at the event, saying that “no other employees were in the video.”

“Andy Byron has not put out any statement,” Astronomer added, “reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”
