Andrew Schulz Has New Thoughts on Who Is Putting America First

They say even broken clocks are right twice a day, but that’s maybe too generous of an analogy for Andrew Schulz. I don’t think Schulz has been right twice. However, in the most recent episode of his podcast Flagrant with Akaash Singh, he seems to be circling a correct assessment. Schulz is starting to regret voting for Donald Trump. His incredible powers of discernment have sussed out that maybe the president has been lying. Maybe, the racist real-estate developer with dozens of sexual assault allegations and felony convictions isn’t trying to make life better for the everyday American.
The breaking point for Schulz doesn’t seem to be for any of the obvious reasons; instead, the final straw seems to link back to Jeffrey Epstein. This week, the Department of Justice announced that there was no Epstein client list, and that the accused child rapist and trafficker died by suicide while held in detention in 2019. Like many other Trump supporters (including Roseanne Barr), Schulz was further aggravated by the recent statement from Trump saying that he couldn’t believe people were still wasting their time talking about Epstein.
Don’t Miss
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years,” Trump told a group of reporters this week. “We have all of the things. And are people still talking about this guy, this creep?”

For the first 25 minutes of the podcast, Schulz and Singh and their two guests (while wearing tinfoil hats, which — okay, funny) discuss whether this Epstein ordeal is a cover-up by the government; by an international group of governments; or by Trump, trying to remove his own implication in the crimes. After they get through discussing the CIA, FBI, Trump and Israel’s varying levels of involvement in Epstein’s prolific child abuse scheme, Schulz has some larger clarity. “Everything he campaigned on I believe he wanted to do, and now he’s doing the exact opposite thing of every single fucking thing,” Schulz said.
Schulz’s realization that Trump is either evil or incompetent (or both) ultimately leads him to another revelation: There’s only one political party putting America first in the US, and it’s not Trump’s Republicans. It’s not even Nancy Pelosi’s Democrats. It’s the Democratic Socialists.
“The only party right now that to me seems America first is the Democrat Socialist Party,” Schulz explained. “Bernie (Sanders) is America first. Mamdani and all his ideas — that he will not be able to execute and I frankly think many of them are not good ideas — but he is no doubt New York first. That’s what I care about. And if MAGA wants to take this America first thing back, they’ve got to start looking out for America. Lying to Americans is not America first.”
The segment later wades into ideas of universal healthcare, universal education and ending forever wars. You know, real socialist shit.
Does it still feel like I’m actively losing the intelligence I’ve accumulated through the act of reading books for every minute I listen? Oh yeah. But it might be the start of an interesting shift in the tides, if even Trump’s most loyal podcast bros are starting to wake up to the MAGA nonsense.
Just wait until they find out the truth about billionaires.
