American who flew all the way to London try a famous British snack is slammed for the journey

An American who travelled to London to try Borough Market’s  viral chocolate covered strawberries said the trip was ‘worth it’ – despite being slammed for the journey.

Tyshon Lawrence, 26, revealed he flew seven hours from the US’s East Coast to London to try the snack at the world famous market.

Posting to TikTok, he said: ‘You’re probably like “Tyshon, You did not go all the way to London to try some chocolate-covered strawberries.”

‘B***h, we just landed,’.

Urging viewers not to judge him, Tyshon leapt on the Elizabeth line from Heathrow where he headed towards Borough market at London Bridge.

While London is globally renowned for it’s food, instead of trying one of the capital’s Michelin-starred restaurants or many world-famous culinary hot spots – Tyshon instead tried the viral snack, leaving many people confused.

An American TikToker, Tyshon Lawrence, 26, recently took to the app to share his experience trying the highly sought after snack, shocking Brits with his glowing review

After admiring the efficiency of the Elizabeth line, the YouTube arrived at his final stop.

He then sauntered through the Southwark market, avoiding the aromatic smells of other food vendors.

As he finally landed at the chocolate covered strawberry stand, he was promptly offered a free sample of fruit, which he took with animated delight.

He exclaimed: ‘That man knew what he was doing when he gave me that free sample.

‘Okay, so it’s £8.

‘It’s £8 for the strawberries. $10 for this? Yeah, it better be good.’

Tyshon then ordered his own full sized cup, watching eagerly as he anticipated the delicious snack’s arrival.

The £8 pot then arrived in a small plastic up, having been generously doused in a double serving of molten milk chocolate.

As he dunked a fresh strawberry into the fountain of chocolate in his cup, his first impression was that the ‘chocolate here is better than America’.

After the several thousand mile trip to the British capital, Tyshon concluded that he was more than impressed with the results

The simple sweet treat earned his approval, earning itself a near perfect nine out of 10 rating from the YouTuber.

‘The strawberries were just fresh. It’s getting a nine from me. A nine out of ten. Most definitely.’

While some were eager to sample the delectable treat themselves, other Brits couldn’t wrap their head around the hefty price point.

Some commenters were baffled with the glowing review and asked why the YouTuber couldn’t have just made the snack at home.

One asked ‘Eight British pounds?!’ while another similarly stated ‘Eight British pounds for strawberries?’

One amused Brit wrote: ‘This is the first time I’ve heard someone be excited to eat in the UK’.

A third penned: ‘You could buy three strawberries and the chocolate and make it at home for less than £8.’

‘I wanna know where they are getting these very fresh strawberries out of season in the UK,’ said another.

Others added that Tyshon was finally enjoying ‘real chocolate’.

‘Not Tyshon judging the price of the strawberries he flew to another country to get. I aspire to be you,’ said another.

‘I live in London & can’t be bothered to go there for strawberries, you was invested,’ said another.

‘This is why I’m poor, I unfortunately would also fly to London to just eat strawberries if I had disposable income,’ said another.
