Alyssa Farah Griffin rips RFK Jr. in op-ed: ‘Gaslighting and real-time pivoting’

Former Trump administration aide Alyssa Farah Griffin went after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in an op-ed published in The Daily Beast, calling out the independent presidential candidate for “gaslighting and real-time pivoting” in his attempt to build his campaign.

Griffin tore into Kennedy for saying that President Biden is potentially a greater “threat to democracy” than former President Trump, calling it an “absurd and patently false” argument.

“It also appears to be personal,” Griffin wrote in an op-ed published Wednesday night. “Kennedy apparently still holds a grudge over his Instagram being suspended in 2021 for spreading misleading public health information, after Biden administration officials flagged the material to Meta.”

The current co-host on ABC’s “The View,” said Trump also “was notorious” for complaining to platforms about removing content he did not like.

She argued those points do not come close to the “very real threat” Trump poses to democracy.

“Trump literally tried to throw out the results of a democratic election that would have resulted in disenfranchising 80 million American voters,” she wrote. “He incited an attack on Congress to stop the certification of the election. He attempted to compel public officials to thwart the election.”

Griffin said that Kennedy “knows this” and that he is trying to attract voters from both political flanks and “speaking out of both sides of his mouth to do it.”

She criticized the independent presidential candidate for his vaccine skepticism and “gaslighting and real-time pivoting” on the issue.

“Kennedy is very clearly dropping easter eggs to both the right and left on key issues to try to garner support, and perhaps hoping they’ll either miss or not care about his extreme views aligned with the other party,” she wrote.

“He is uniquely positioned to be a spoiler in the most consequential presidential contest of the last 50 years, where democracy is very much on the ballot and it is not Joe Biden who is threatening it.”

The Hill has reached out to Kennedy’s campaign for comment.
