After India & SA, Sri Lanka squad announced, know line-up & schedule

Sri Lanka has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming tri-nation series against India and South Africa, to be held at home. The team, led by Chamari Athapaththu, has seen changes from the squad that played against New Zealand, including the introduction of spinner Malki Madara, who gets her first call-up to the ODI squad. Talking about India and South Africa, both teams have already finalised their squads for the series.

Key changes and inclusions

Eight changes have been made to the squad, bringing fresh faces and returning players into the mix. Notable inclusions are Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi Silva, Hasini Perera, Piumi Wathsala, Dewmi Vihanga, Inoka Ranaweera, and Hansima Karunaratne. Malki Madara, who impressed during the T20I series in New Zealand, is one of the exciting prospects, having delivered strong bowling performances.

Tri-Nation series overview

The series, set to begin on April 27 in Colombo, serves as a vital preparatory event for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India.
