10 Events Surpass 1 Million Viewers

The second quarter of 2025 saw significant growth in the esports industry, with ten different events surpassing the 1 million peak viewer mark, a notable increase from the first quarter’s six. Mobile games, in particular, demonstrated their dominance. Check out the detailed information about the top esports events and game in Q2 below.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was the most popular game of the quarter, with a peak viewership of over 4.1 million. This was driven by the MPL Indonesia Season 15 grand final, where ONIC beat RRQ Hoshi. This match set a new record for the league and became the seventh most-watched esports event of all time.

League of Legends was the second most popular game, reaching 1.96 million concurrent viewers during the LCK Road to MSI 2025. The final match between T1 and Hanwha Life Esports solidified the tournament as the third most popular of the year.

In the third spot, Counter-Strike 2 hit a peak viewership of 1.78 million during the BLAST.tv Austin Major. Team Vitality’s victory over The MongolZ in the grand final made it the most popular CS2 tournament of 2025 so far.

Valorant rounded out the top four, breaking the 1 million viewer mark at VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025. Although it was a major event, its peak viewership was slightly lower than the competing Counter-Strike final.

Other titles also had impressive showings. Arena of Valor maintained its fifth-place ranking, reaching a record 872,000 peak viewers during the Arena of Glory Spring 2025 finals. The finals featured a dramatic comeback win for Saigon Phantom against Team Flash.

Beyond the top five, other events like the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: Mobile Masters 2025 and MPL Philippines Season 15 also set new viewership records for their respective series, highlighting the continued expansion of mobile esports.

Overall, the competitive landscape remained consistent. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike continue to be the dominant forces. The popularity of mobile titles, including PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and Battlegrounds Mobile India, further solidified their growing influence, with tournaments for these games rounding out the top 20. The BGMI Skyesports Championship 2025 Last Chance Qualifiers, which took place from May 10th-13th, also contributed to the quarter’s events.
