Bill Clinton discharged after hospitalization for flu
Former President Clinton was discharged on Tuesday morning after being hospitalized a day earlier for flu, according to his spokesperson.
“He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and are touched by the kind messages and well wishes he received,” spokesperson Angel Ureña added in a Tuesday morning post on X. “He sends his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to all.”
Clinton was admitted to the Washington hospital on Monday with a fever.
“President Clinton was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever,” Ureña wrote on social media. “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”
The former Democratic president was active during the 2024 presidential campaign, supporting Vice President Harris in her bid against President-elect Trump. Months prior, he spoke at the Democratic National Convention which took place in Chicago.
The former president was in the hospital for five days in 2021 with sepsis that was caused by an infection.
