Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s dynamic duo will return in Paul Feig’s sequel to A Simple Favor (2018).
The 2025 film follows its predecessor, a twisted mystery of sorts that involved Lively’s Emily Nelson, Anna Kendrick’s Stephanie Smothers and Emily’s husband Sean Townsend (Henry Golding).

Alongside original trio Kendrick, Lively and Golding, returning cast members include Andrew Rannells, Kelly McCormack and Bashir Salahuddin. What happened in A Simple Favor?
Based on the book of the same name by Darcey Bell, the story watched Stephanie befriend Emily when their sons wanted to have a playdate. From there on, the two mothers were linked, and the title came from Emily asking Stephanie the “simple favor” to pick up her son from school right before she herself went missing for a few days only to turn up “dead.” There was a lot to unpack regarding that mystery that goes into spoiler territory for the first film, so a watch is recommended ahead of Another Simple Favor.
Is there a trailer for Another Simple Favor?
Yes, the trailer gives glimpses at Michele Morrone’s Dante Versano and the Capri coast. Henry Golding’s Sean Townsend, Emily’s ex-husband and also author, is not pleased to be present at the lemon-filled springtime nuptials.
Allison Janney’s Aunty Linda also appears in the trailer, as does Alex Newell’s assistant to Stephanie for her book tour. A devastating explosion looks to be a major plot point, sending the whole wedding party into an investigation. And not to worry, Emily’s drink of choice, a martini, makes prominent appearances throughout the clip.
