Tiger Woods preys on public with April Fools’ joke about Masters
And arguably the greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods, wants in on the April Fools’ trickery.
Woods underwent surgery to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon three weeks ago in March.
But the 15-time major champion’s career is so storied, and so full of perseverance — he famously won the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines despite multiple serious leg injuries — that fans could be led to believe almost anything about his latest recovery.
And so, on April Fools’, Tiger preyed.
“I can’t believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, the sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts my doctors and trainers have me ready to play the Masters next week! Can’t wait! See y’all on the course,” Woods posted on X on Tuesday.
The post raised eyebrows until the follow-up six minutes later.
“P.S. April Fools my Achilles is still a mess :),”
And so we can all stand down. It still appears that Woods will not be playing the first major of the season at Augusta National, after all.
