COMEDY

Brave 10-month-old kitten ‘Minnie’ hitches a ride in a car engine, gets rescued by firefighters after a 40-minute commute and finds her purrfect furever home along the way

THE STORY FROM OP:

So, I finished my shift and hopped in my car. Considering traffic, my commute usually takes about 40 to 50 minutes to get home. It was around 6 or 7 PM in June in Italy, so definitely warm weather (I’m aware that cats in winter jump into car engines to stay warm).

About halfway through, I heard a faint meowing noise. Luckily, I had my music turned off! I never drive without music, but for some reason, I didn’t have any playing that day. At first, I thought the meowing was coming from a garden near the houses along the street I was driving on since I had my windows rolled down. Then I heard it again.

I called my girlfriend and said, “Baby, I think I’m going crazy—I hear voices.” She told me to check the car really well. I pulled over at a bus stop, checked the car, and found nothing. At that point, I decided to just get home and inspect it thoroughly. By then, the meowing was getting louder, and it sounded like crying, almost as if she was saying, “I’m here! Save me!”
