Grilled bok choy recipe is guaranteed to be your new favorite side dish. Ready in just 10 minutes, enjoy the baby bok choy with grilled chicken, beef, or even fish!
Ingredients you need for the Grilled Bok Choy with Ginger and Garlic
2 pounds baby bok choy (8 to 10), halved lengthwise and soaked in cold water to remove any dirt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice + lemon slices for garnish
1 tablespoon freshly chopped cilantro, for garnish
Directions
1. To make the grilled bok choy: Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate. Cut the stalks lengthwise and rinse well, then pat dry to remove any excess water. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, olive oil, sesame oil, and soy sauce until well combined.
2. Arrange the bok choy, cut side down, on the grill grate, and grill for about 5 minutes, until golden brown on the underside. Turn the bok choy with tongs and grill for 5 to 6 minutes more until golden and crisp-tender. The bok choy stalks should show grill marks and the leaves should be crisp at the edges.
3. Transfer the grilled bok choy to a serving platter and brush generously with the garlic-ginger mixture. The butter in the mixture will finish melting over the hot bok choy. Garnish with lemon slices, cilantro, and red chili pepper flakes if you like. Serve the grilled bok choy immediately. Enjoy! ❤️
