Hoping for a repeat lift from the upfronts crowd, NBCUniversal once again put a spotlight on Wicked on Monday at Radio City Music Hall.
Wicked: For Good, the second half of the Broadway adaptation starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, will open November 21. Director John Chu took the stage at the upfront to not only introduce the trailer but also to announce a live concert in L.A. featuring the film’s co-stars and featuring songs from both parts of the Broadway adaptation.
Chu called the concert “a centerpiece of our campaign” for the second film.
The first installment got a boost at the 2024 upfronts, with the trailer world-premiering at Radio City ahead of a global blitz that netted 10 Oscar nominations and more than $750 million in global box office.
