The Home Republican story that George Santos stepped down from his committee assignments was a lie in response to former staffer Derek Myers.
Speaking Factors Memo reported:
“Mainly the speaker instructed him, look, you’ve gotta be extra like a statesman,” Myers recalled.
Throughout that dialog, Myers mentioned McCarthy stripped Santos of his committee posts. That contradicts the narrative from Santos, who has recommended he selected to step apart with out strain from Republican management.
“He feels horrible about mendacity, he feels horrible that he acquired caught,” Myers mentioned of Santos.
