On the time, Stallone had about as many hits underneath his belt as he had flops, and with the Rocky and Rambo franchises firmly in his rearview mirror (till, in fact, the revival of each properties a decade later), his profession was floating into unsure waters as he began to take elements that performed towards his kind as an uber-macho ass-kicker. He even took up voice appearing within the weird DreamWorks film Antz in 1998, which must be a half-step above rapping in a pretend Dunkin’ Donuts advert like Al Pacino did in Jack and Jill.
Smack dab in the course of a profession deadlock, Rambo stepped into Macdonald’s firing line and took shot after shot from a bloodied Macdonald within the quintessential Norm Macdonald type that’s so casually brutal to the targets of his jokes. However Rocky took it like a champ and performed the proper straight man as his life’s work was lampooned in entrance of a howling viewers.
In all of Stallone’s comedy appearances, nobody ever roasted him as viciously and as personally as Macdonald did that fateful Saturday evening. The one different time Stallone was on the receiving finish of a joke this harsh was when Arnold Schwarzenegger baited him into taking the main function in Cease! Or My Mother Will Shoot.
